(Pierpoint Landing, Long Beach)
From the intersection of the 405 and 710 freeways, take the 710 south. About three miles down, the freeway splits. Follow the LEFT side that says "Downtown/Aquarium." You'll pass a couple of exits and a traffic light. The freeway bends to the left, then the right, and turns into Shoreline Drive at the traffic light. Follow Shoreline past the big Aquarium of the Pacific parking structure on your right to the traffic light at Aquarium Way. Turn right at Aquarium Way, come around the fountain towards the parking structure, and then follow the road as it veers left, literally going down the backside of the Aquarium. As you clear the end of the Aquarium property, there's a stop sign and a small traffic circle with a parking lot on the left. This is Pierpoint Landing. Turn left into the parking lot and come all the way to the end. Park along the curb and unload your gear. (There are carts available down on the dock.) Once unloaded, park in any available space in the parking lot. If the lot is full, go about 100 yards straight across from the parking lot entrance, under the overpass, and park in the big dirt lot.
